Good Evening, God,
Wow! What a day! Up at 6am this morning and to the hotel treadmill. After breakfast, V and I set out on our own self-guided walking tour of historic Savannah – using Frommer’s portable and the chapter called “Savannah strolls.” As it turned out, more like a Savannah overheated marathon! Total walking steps today – 18,385, mileage 7.54 miles (ok not a true marathon but felt like it by the time we returned to the hotel but…..it was all great!
Started at City Hall and the first historic …

Dear God,
Thank you for today’s safe journey to Savannah, Georgia. It was a long day for me since I got up (thanks for the help!) at 4:30am to get in a cardio workout before my 8:15am scheduled lab work. I did all the packing last night so after the lab work, I was on the road to Winter Haven by 9am (after stopping for coffee, of course!)
Vikki and I hit the road from Winter Haven about 11am and after two or three breaks along the way arrived in Savannah about …

Praying with the Psalms

Dear God,
This morning I read the following:
“On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know…
…that illness is not a sign of spiritual weakness, but of
spiritual strength.
When we fall ill there are some who will say, “Why
did you create that for yourself?” They might convince
you to see it as a sign of spiritual weakness or failure.
It is not. It is a sign of spiritual strength.
All challenges are a sign a spiritual strength, and of
the readiness of the Soul to move on; to evolve even
further.”  Neale …

Good Evening, God,
I have been down but I am not out.  Yesterday was a rough day.  I again felt overwhelmed and fatigued.  Lack of energy caused me to be in a bad mood when I arrived to do my workout with my Personal Trainer, Jen.  However, Jen was NOT sympathetic – she came down hard on me — a real smackdown!  And although it was difficult to hear, it seems to be the dose of reality that I needed.  All she did was to remind me of all the things …

Inspiration/motivation needed

Good Morning, God 2 Comments »

Dear God,
My head hurts.  I’ve been having morning headaches for a few days now.  I can’t think of any reason this should be so since I have seldom ever had headaches.  Perhaps that is why I feel less than inspired to do my prayer/writing this morning.
This month’s theme is supposed to be on vitality but I feel less than vital.  I used to be such an energetic person.  Constantly busy, I could never slow down.  Now it seems the opposite – ever sense menopause hit.  I need energy and inspiration.
Don’t …

Ordinary Bedazzlement

Good Morning, God Add Your Comments »

Dear God,
The daily devotion today reminds me that it is the twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time.  I know that Ordinary Time has a particular meaning for the church but I find it interesting to think about time as “ordinary.”  Ordinary Time is a season of the Christian (especially the Catholic) liturgical calendar. The English name is intended to translate the Latin term Tempus per annum (literally “time through the year”). Ordinary Time comprises the two periods which do not fall under the “strong seasons” of Advent, Christmas, Lent, or Easter.  …
