Imperfect day is perfect
Dear God January 2nd, 2010
Day 2 of the New Year and my imperfect year is continuing perfectly imperfect. I did think that I might be able to stick to a morning/evening meditation plan perfectly but life quickly intervened and, true to my new commitment to imperfect, I decided to go with the flow. April wanted to visit First Watch for breakfast – Ft. Lauderdale doesn’t have one – to indulge in her favorite fruit crepes. As usual, my desire to indulge my daughter won out over the meditation plan. Sorry, God.
April helped me with my surgical tubing while I did my spongy shower. After breakfast and pain meds mixed with cough expectorant for me, we meandered around town visiting Pier One for after Christmas sales, Blockbuster for movies to watch this evening, Borders just for book browsing fun and Wal-Mart for my new glasses and after Christmas deals for April.
After an afternoon movie break (My Sister’s Keeper – tear, tear), I did consider taking a meditation break but again, April had evening plans for us to order take-out from Bonefish and finish up with “The Ugly Truth” (pretty funny) and Ghirardelli brownies and white chocolate yogurt from TCBY.
All-in-all, it was a day that filled me with joy (and calories) but it was the best day of the holidays for me. No better gift in the world than time with my beautiful daughter. Thank you, God and, I trust it was a day that honored You, meditation or not.

Glad to to see you are back to blogging. Oh how I enjoy your thoughts and wit. I have miss you bunches and yes I have dropped off of the face of the planet but now I’m here to stay. Thanks for the beautiful Christmas card too! Love you bunches, M
