vegetablesDear God,

Vikki is with me this week and will drive me to the doctor and around during the week so I can prepare for the trip to Tallahassee on Sunday.

It has been hard today to remember that the holidays are over and we are in a new year and back to the normal, everyday routines.  Probably because I am not yet back to “normal” after last Thursday’s surgery.  I still am moving slowly and my chest cough is hanging on but every day, I am a little better.  Will see the doctor tomorrow and hopefully have the drainage tubing removed and find out what my total recovery time will be.

Today’s gospel reading reminds me where my healing comes from in   Matthew 4:  “He went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people.”  Thank you, God for the healing power of Jesus.

It is hard to be still and wait for my healing and restoration to full strength.  This down time does remind me, however, of how important it is for me to do all within my power to guard and protect my health.  Health is life itself.  So I should eat my vegetables!
