Dear God,
Still not feeling back to normal yet – whatever normal is.  Today I spent the morning doing my backlog of daily entries to the blog based on my park adventures of the week.
The afternoon was for shopping errands.  The day seems to have flown by without me accomplishing much of anything.  But, what is my deal about always having to “accomplish” something anyway?  Seems like I spend all my time finding fault with myself or disguising finding fault with myself as “self-improvement,” which is just a fancy way of …

Dear God,
Today I am in recoup mode.  Although the Parks Tour was awesome, it was also exhausting.  Funny that fun can be tiring.  And, being out of my normal routine is also difficult.  Travel and anything out of the ordinary is reflected in my body in multiple ways.
So, I cancelled my scheduled appointment with my trainer and the chiropractor thinking I would rest but, in fact, I was busy with work all day.  My eating, naturally, is off kilter.  I started the trip with the best of intentions to eat …

Dear God,
I have been very tempted to skip this park of the tour – the plan is for us to actually walk into the swamps of the Everglades in search of the “Ghost Orchid.”  But, luckily, my ego overrides my fear (who wants to be labeled as the wimpette of the State Parks Tour???) and, I meet up with my group at the hotel at 8am.
However, our first stop of the day is Koreshan located on the banks of the Estero River.  This was a definite strange historical site.  A …

Dear God,
Day 3 State Parks Tour - This morning we had a boat tour around Honeymoon Island.  We were here last night for dinner but returned today to see the sights up close and personal.  In 1939, this was called Hog Island but became Honeymoon Island when 50 palm-thatched bungalows were created to appeal to vacationing newlyweds.  I think our tour guide said this was one of the most visited parks in Florida.  It is a beauty with fabulous beaches, mangrove swamps, tidal flats, birds and the typical fishing, snorkeling …

Dear God,
Day 2 of the Parks Tour and we explore Homosassa Springs beginning with an early morning visit to feed the Manatees!  The park rangers provided huge buckets full of sliced, raw sweet potatoes.  As they banged on the buckets, we could see the waters begin to move as the Manatees made their way to breakfast.  Approximately six people were allowed in the water at one time as the feeding began.  It was an amazing sight.  These huge creatures were so completely gentle as they nibbled the potatoes from our …

Dear God,

As You can see, I am writing my prayer to You in the evening.  This will be my necessary pattern for the remainder of this week as I am doing the Florida State Parks 75th Anniversary Tour this week and the morning will be tied to a strict schedule so, I will write my prayer in the evening when I have some private time.

Today has been an amazing day.  After driving to Homosassa Springs I spent two hours this afternoon on a pontoon boat on the Homosassa River.  It …
